Question My cousin recently was not feeling well he thaught he was having trouble with his neck and lower back. He went to the chiropractor but ended up with worse pain that would go away. all of sudden he could barely talk, walk breath and had tingling at the left side of head with numbness of the tongue and left side of face. He went to the hospital and they found a brain tumor on the left back side of the brain and then in the other areas. The pain is constant. Can this be begnin or malignant? Can he recooperate?
Answer If he has a tumor in his lungs and ALSO has tumors in his brain, liver & spine it is very probable that this started as a lung cancer that then has spread to his brain, liver & spine. A case with this situation has an extremely bad prognosis unfortunately. If my interpretation is correct he has a stage 4 lung cancer that among other places has spread to his brain. Such a cancer is at present incurable and uncontrollable. His survival time can at most be measured in months maybe only in weeks. Radiation therapy may be useful but mainly for palliative treatment. Chemotherapy would be much more uncertain in this situation. Surgery is of no real use here. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
