Question
Hi,
Recently my wife was detected with an epidermoid in brain after an MRI was done for  her brain ;
The impression is as follows:

A well defined CSF intensity lesion is seen on right CP angle represents an epidermoid.Right V nerve is displaced laterally. Right VII-VIII nerve complex is also displaced inferiorly and laterally.At places, the lesion is in close relation with the basilar artery and also extends to left side.

Right now she is facing mild bearable headache which in not consistant .Do we need an operation for this ? what are different methods of operation can we have ;  i mean robotic or gamma effect etc .

Thanks
pratyush

Answer
Unfortunately you did not give me the size of her lesion so I can not evaluate the possibilities of GammaKnife treatment here. I'm not a neurologist or a neurosurgeon. I'm a medical oncologist & radiation therapist with experience of treating (mainly malignant) brain tumours. So I strongly suggest that you discuss this case with a neurosurgeon or a neurologist. It is largely outside my area of expertise here.
