Brain Tumors/grade 4 brain tumour and proton therapy

Question
Our brother has unfortunately grade 4 brain tumours- advanced and aggressive. His time from initial diagnosis to an advanced presentation of the disease has been very short.  Other forms of treatment have been understandably rejected for clinical reasons. Might proton therapy be appropriate?

Speed to you.

Answer
Proton treatment - like concentrated gamma ray treatment (GammaKnife, CyberKnife) - is only useful in rather small tumours of a maximum size of not much more than 2-3 cm.  If his tumour is bigger this method can not be used at present unfortunately.
