Brain Tumors/is my Mohter's condition terminal

Question
My Mother recently was diagnosed with cancer. Through doing an MRI they found mastisized tumors in her brain. They just found out through another test that she has a small mass in her right lung. I understand that this cancer came from another part of her body (probably her lung). I have the impression from her doctor that there is no cure for her at this stage, but I am not sure what stage it would be at. It has happened all so suddenly that it has not sank in and just want to know how much time she has left approximately.
Thank you,

Answer
Yes if that interpretation is correct she has a lung cancer that has spread to her brain which lung cancers often do. It is then unfortunately a stage 4 lung cancer with a very bad prognosis. Unfortunately her survival time can probably be measured at most in months. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
