Question
I was have been diagnosed with a 9mm lipoma in the right quadrigeminal plate cistern.  I am experiencing symptoms that include blurred vision, flashing lights, nausea, difficulty in word finding, memory loss and lack of concentration.  I was previously a Bank Manager and I find these symptoms very debilitating and frustrating as this now effects my work and social life.  I have been to three different neurologists who have all bacically told me that Lipomas are non symptomatic and that basically it is all in my head.  Am I mad or are my symptoms related to suck a tumor.

Answer
Lipomas are non malignant and definitely usually without any symptoms whatsoever. I doubt very much that a 9 mm lipoma can cause the symptoms you describe. It is far more probable - almost a certainty - that they are caused by something else. That is in no way any indication that you are mad. Your neurologists will have to look for some other cause. But that is outside my area of expertise here. Good luck!
