Question
How long would you think the tumor has been in place since the diagnosis was a week ago?  The week of February 12th.  My brother also has Alzheimers.  We (family)are thinking the surgery would benefit him if he can live a little longer but I don't want him a vegetable.  Can you please advise.

Answer
How big is it? How long it has been there depends on its growth rate and size. None are known to me (tumors like patients are individuals not identical copies/clones) since there are many individual variations. It depends on how advanced his Alzheimer is. If not advanced I see no reason why he should not have treatment. If possible treatment should include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. The long time prognosis is very bad though even with treatment.
