Question
Husband has a astrocytoma grade 2/3 in his left temporal lobe.  Had resection done in October approx 7 cm left.  Had 30 radiation treatments, done with that.  At the same time, on Temodar.  Will have a 4 wk break then back on Temodar at twice the strength.  What are the chances the Temodar will do much good with a tumor this size?  Mentally & Physically, he is doing well.  Naps in the morning and afternoon, 2 hrs.  I know this isn't exact, but could you offer any time frames we may be looking at for survival?

Answer
Survival time is strongly associated with the grade of a brain tumor. Here the grade seems to be uncertain (2 or 3). There is actually quite a difference with regards to survival times between grade 2 and 3. It may be helpful if you have the possibility of letting me read his actual pathology report. If so you may copy it here. What was the size of his tumor originally? His original MRI brain scan may also be of interest.
