Question
My brother has been fighting an astrocytoma for 12 years and he seems to be at the end stage. the report today is that he went into seizures, and was put in a drug induced coma-he has not come out of it and has not responded to the neuro tests.....could this mean that he is gone? my family is vague or not wanting to say anything to me, but I'd like to have some feedback-can you help?

Answer
That is possible, but without much more clinical information it is impossible to be sure. What is sure however is that most malignant brain tumors - including astrocytomas - do have very bad - at least long term - prognosis.
So is his too unfortunately.
