Brain Tumors/astrocytoma grade 2

Question
My husband had a small portion of this astrocytoma removed (grade 2) in October.  Then followed up with Radiation with Temodar at the same time.  After 6 wks, had MRI showing the tumor went from 6.6 x 7.8cm to 5.5 x 6.5 cm.   He is feeling well.  All Dr's involved were pleased with the decrease in size.  But because of the size, they won't give us any idea of a time frame he may have left.  He seems to keep having one health problem after another popping up.  Can you give us any idea of how much time he may have left.  50 yr old male, relatively good health

Answer
If his grade is correct (which may be uncertain) he may have several years ahead of him. Unfortunately no one can be more precise than that. But prognosis is closely linked to grade. The higher the grade the worse the prognosis is. A grade 4 may live around one year or so only.
