Question
Sir, My niece is  diagnosed as thalamic glioma , mild hydrocephalus by neurosurgeons in nepal and they are saying that there is no treatment except using radiotherapy. I want ur seggestion regarding whether is it possible to be cured or not. The size of mass is 5.0*7.0*4.5 according to MRI report and the mass is seen involving both thalamus.
Sir, i am eager to get an answer from u regarding further treatment.
Hoping for ur sooner response.
Thanksing you,

Answer
Unfortunately with this location it is not treatable with surgery. It is also too big for treatment with stereotactic radiation therapy (GammaKnife, CyberKnife or proton beams). So conventional radiation therapy remains the only possible treatment though it is most doubtful if that can do anything more than temporarily reduce her symptoms and prolong her survival time. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
