Brain Tumors/lung cancer that has mastisized to the brain

Question
My mother fell and they found tumors on her brain.  They said that it originated from another part of the body.  They found a small nodule in her left lung.  We are waiting for results from the biopsy.  The doctor said that they want to do radiation called a gamo knife procedure.  Then treat the lung after.  What do you think the prognosis is and will she have some life to live?

Answer
In this situation her prognosis is probably bad but on the other hand this is the only possible way to go. It should however - if possible - be combined with lung surgery, conventional whole brain radiation therapy and chemotherapy since this is a very serious situation.
