Brain Tumors/Dnet

Question
After having a dnet brain tumor surgically removed, can it ever grow back?

Answer
This is a VERY rare kind of tumor first described as recently as 1988! So experience is VERY limited. But the general concensus is that if it is a grade 1 tumor that risk is VERY low (I have never seen or treated any case of this tumor myself, so I have to rely on the experience of others). So any extra treatment like radiation therapy or chemotherapy is considered unnecessary. That is all I can tell you at present. It seems if you have to have a brain tumor this is the one to have! A cousin of mine recently lost a son to a glioblastoma multiforme GBM brain tumor grade 4, the worst you can have. In spite of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy his son - in his 30ies - and a very successful lawyer, painter, drawer and choir singer survived for just around one year which is normal for these tumors. My cousin commented this:"This was my most intelligent and gifted child (of 4, 3 brothers and one sister) and he gets a BRAIN TUMOR!"
