Question
my grandmother for the past ten years was showing the signs of dementa. well she broke into my mothers room, and took her medcine back. she forgot about already taking it. and it dropped her blood pressure, well she fell.... we rushed her to the er, and they said she didnt break anything and gave her a morphine shot, and sent her home.
well.. after two days of her refusing to eat, drink, or even get up. we sent her back to the er. we had a fit on them to do a stroke test, fearing she had one.. they did a cat scan, and told us that she has an enlarged metastases melanoma. and that its benine, how ca? they tell from a scan? also. for what is happening to her, as right side parilized, slurred speach, etc.(symtoms of a stroke) what could this be doing to her brain, as ei.. crushing, strangling, mood change, confusion, forgetting, lose of appitite;from always wanting to eat, always sleeping. i would love to get as much info about this, for we fear she is on her last hour, and her almost being 101 in may...

    thank you ever so much...,,

Answer
To really be able to answer your questions I would need to read her CT scan report. You can copy it here. A CT scan can definitely show if there is a malignant metastatic tumor process going on in the brain. But usually not exactly what kind of tumor. But in order to be more precise I do need to read her report. If she has a malignant metastatic tumor process in her brain her prognosis is indeed very bad regardless of treatment of every and any kind and her remaining survival time can probably at most be measured in months but may be shorter. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
