Question
I have recently had a ct that showed an incedental finding of an intracranial lipoma. I had two thyroid surgeries in the last 2 years and was following up on a neck ct when they seen it. I had a ct about 8 mos ago that did not show up. i just had an mri that showed a 4x6x10mm lipoma. I have had blurred vision and headaches more so in the last year. what type of treatment and what questions should i be asking reguarding this? I am very worried concerning my past history with cancer. I am having a hard time finding answers, please help

Answer
Brain lipomas usually do not require any treatment and usually do not give any symptoms. This one is actually quite small (1 inch = 25.4 mm) and should not give any symptoms at all. So it has probably nothing to do with your symptoms. It has NOTHING to do with your thyroid surgeries! It may very well have been there 8 months ago too. But since it is not significant it may not even have been mentioned. But that can be checked by checking those CT scans from that time again. Your doctor should have told you this.
