Question
my dad his first seizure in 1991, in his mri the noticed a small cystic appearance.  it was monitored by mri every 6 months.  in 2007 the cyst had grown and was bleeding.  he had surgery and most of the tumor was removed.  It was an oblio grade 2, radiation followed for 6 wks as a precaution.  He responded well until feb 2010 he started having balance problems, speech and memory.  Took him to er and was admitted to hospital for almost 3ks, prognosis- they could do nothing.  By this time he would not talk, walk, or pay much attention.  He received 1 treatment of avastin and after a few days he was able to walk with help.  Treatment continued until dec2010, he did get tired and had weakness to his right side but overall looked good. In jaN 2011 HE HAD A HEART ATTACK AND HAD TWO STENTS PLACED. In late may 2011, we noticed his tongue looked different when he would eat, and liquids would leak out(alittle). He has been in and out of the hopital due to more seizures. He has had about 4 small seizures and his blood work was low for dilatin levels.  He is not mobile, but can sit up in a wheelchair, pureed diet...Somedays he looks good others looks weak.  Dr say we can contibnue treatment, but they dont say much more. They do say they think all the symptoms are RIN.  If so was is the prognosis, avastin they say is not an option.

Answer
In this situation and if more chemotherapy (in his case Avastin) is not possible (more radiation therapy is probably also not possible) then his prognosis is very bead though I can not with any certainty predict exactly how long time he has left but probably not many months. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
