What is the current, most successful treatment for low grade oligodendroglioma II with 1p19q deletion?
My tumor was in my rt frontal lobe-- incidental finding in late April 2011. Awake cranie on June 27th. No changes-- no deficits, in the process of researching treatment-- but there isn't a 'standard of care' for this low grade bt. I believe my neuro oncologist may steer treatment to radiation+temodar. He stated he definitely did not want to 'watch and wait'. Clinical trial was offered- but it is a randomized groups of study of different types of tumors studied with radiation only and rad+temodar.
How big is your tumor? I need to know that before giving you my answer.

| Comment | Hello--- this is the only way to answer your question regarding the size of my tumor. It was approx 2x1 cm. I had one MRI right after surgery, and one last week approx 7 weeks after surgery. I was told this was to better view resection and help with treatment advice. Surgeon viewing MRI day after surgery stated approx 98% was resected. I will find out more today regarding the more recent MRI. | ||
