hello doc, my brother was dignosed with grade2 astrocytoma in mid of 2008.he underwent  surgery same yaer.after surgery another set od docz(oncologist)told that it has progressed to grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma.followed by which he underwent radiation and 6cycle chemo therpay.his tumore got stable for sometime,each year an mri done showing tumore to be stable.this yr september, his mri reports showed proggression in d tumor.midline shift is there.some sweeling is found out in brain.i have been told by his oncologists that is tumor is located is left lobe has spread aggresivly.and any reoccurence is fatal.he has told me that my bro mught live for a year or max 2yr.he is32 yr old.single.he havinf trouble in left leg,numbness,swelling in left leg and ankle,loosing bladder control at times, mood swings,lots of other probllems.currnlty he is put on chemo temozolide for 5days for 28 days cycle, dexa 8mg.pls tellme,his survival chances?i have onlybother and he has not seen muvh in life.i really worried pls tell me.thanks

Unfortunately I have to agree with his doctor. There is not much else that can be done and his prognosis is bad. I have just lost a close relative (son of a cousin of mine) to glioblastoma multiforme grade 4 (which is an even more anaplastic astrocytoma) so I do understand your position. Unfortunately I have nothing better to tell you!
