Brain Tumors/GBM IV

Question
My partner age 73 was diagnosis 2 and a half years ago with GBM IV with subsequent surgery, Chemo (temodar) and radiation. Her MRI's have been negative for recurrence but her deficits have declined. Could this be a result of radiation necrosis? Could recurrence be hidden by the necrosis?

Answer
Both alternatives are possible though the second one is probably somewhat more probable. Unfortunately it is impossible to tell you which one it is due to lack of tools of investigation in this situation. Without reliable MRI scans - which are better than CT scans - we have no reliable tool. Sorry I can not be of better help!
