Question
Please help me with this diagnosis.  I have been diagnosed with a moderate nonspecific white matter disease.  Although nonspecific findings may reflect sequela of chronic microvascular ischemic disease, chronic complex migraine headache or other demyelinating entity.  ..a subcentimer cystic mass in the left lateral recess of the cistern of the velum interpositum....I am a 58 yr old female diabetic...is this a brain tumor? My only symptoms have been occasional bright flashing lights in the periphereal of right eye and a sharp stabbing occasional quick pain in left eye.

A cyst can be called a kind of tumor but it is NOT normally what you would call a tumor - it is NOT a cancer. The rest of what you describe has nothing to do with tumors at all! I strongly suggest that you direct this question to an expert of neurology or neurosurgery.
