Brazil/About Taubate

Question
I am an American who has been living in Rio, specifically Rio for the past 6 months.  My husband's job relocated us here.  I have a daughter attending the Escola Americana Rio de Janeiro, upper school.  We are now being told his office is moving to Taubate, but there are no international or american schools nearby except Sao Paulo.  We were told to check out Sao Jose but I hear that is still very far from the American School in Sao Paulo.  Can anyone tell me how far that might be?

Answer
Okay, now I know Taubate. Thanks to Wikipedia.  You are going to be nowhere NEAR a foreign language school.  You will have to ask the office where he is workign for to see what they have available there for expats. If you are lucky, there might be an Alphaville nearby, which is a closed in community, that often has Montesorri schools.  You should see if there are any of those nearby.

You can email this guy (in Portuguese) about schools in the area:

Diretor do Departamento de Educacao, Cultura e Esportes.
