Brazil/working in Brazil

Question
I am an accountant working in Canada right now. I am considering moving to Brazil (maybe Sao Paulo) for a work term of maybe 6 to 12 months. I have a good friend here in Canada that is from Sao Paulo and from what she has told me, Brazil is a tremendous place and I would love to go experience it for myself.

Is there anything you can tell me that might help prepare me for work down in Brazil? Are there any jobs that I could get that wouldn't require me to speak fluent Portuguese?

Thank you,

Sincerely,
Jonathan

Answer
Hello Jonathan,

My recommendation is always to visit the country as a tourist before deciding to move there.

In order to get a regular job in Brazil, you would need a work visa issue by a Brazilian consulate in Canada. Also, there are very limited opportunities if you don't know Portuguese well.

Please visit the sites listed below for visa and job search information.
