Question
Hi Edison!
I'm being offered a job in Brazil with a monthly package of USD3000. I have a small family of 3 members.
Does this suffice for a healthy living in Brazil.
How much will i have to shell out to the deductions or what will be advisable for me, as this is not a permanent posting?

Answer
Hello Soman Nair,

Congratulations for the job offer. I believe that you can have a reasonable life in Brazil with $3,000 if you don't live in a very expensive area and don't spend a lot of money in restaurants, traveling and cars.

Taxes and other deductions should take around 30% of your paycheck.

I recommend first go by yourself to learn about the best areas to live and have an idea of expenses in Brazil. Try also to contact other people working for your company for advice.
