QuestionHello, I am in need of information on how i can locate a person living in brazil. Im not sure where to begin my search over the internet. This was an adoption. I have the persons full name, the hospital and adoption papers. Should I start with the american embassy in brazil or the hospital?
AnswerHello Mrs. Naff,
I am not expert on the subject, and don't know if the American Embassy in Brazil could help you, but still worth to try. Contacting the hospital could work if the adoption happened recently or on a small town.
Here are some other alternatives:
1. Do a search on the Brazilian google site(
http://www.google.com.br/) and selecting "páginas do Brasil" (only web pages in Brazil)
2. Search the online phone books (
http://www.telelistas.net/ and
http://www.telefonica.com.br/). Here are the translation of the search options (Palavra-Chave: key word; Nome: name; UF: state; cidade: city; logradouro: street)
3. Hire a detective (search Google for "detective Brazil").
4. Contact a Brazilian Consulate in US (
http://www.brazilsf.org/other_consulates_eng.htm)
Good luck!
