Brazil/Average Pay as a Trauma Nurse in Brazil

Question
Oi Sandra, i was wondering if you could give me an idea of how much a trauma nurse would make in a year in Brazil. It is fine if you do not know of the exact pay amount, i just would like to have at least an idea. Obrigada!

Answer
Salaries are significantly lower in Brazil than for comparable positions in the U.S., for example, (including professionals, and specifically trained medical professionals), and vary widely for all professions depending on where you live, and the cost of living there. For example, I would say that salaries in Sao Paulo city are probably the highest, but so is the cost of living. A registered nurse probably earns about R$2000 per month there in a private hospital (which would not guarantee a very comfortable life in that city, IMO), and much less in other parts of the country. There are public (SUS) and private medical services in Brazil, and service quality, equipment available, and perhaps salaries, are lower for those facilities serving the public sector.
