Question
Is rio a safe place to live and if not where would you want to live??  Been thinking about moving to brazil for work . Can you help me

Answer
Rio is a danger zone these days, but if you dont buy or sell drugs, dont flaunt your cash, dont hang out in crappy neighborhoods late at night, and dont give money to street kids you should be okay. The odds of being robbed are higher there than in Sao Paulo, but Rio is a much more attractive city.

What would you do in Rio? Its no longer the banana republic it used to be; you cant just come here and get a job. Maybe you can teach English, but the pay will be fair to poor or sell hammocks and CDs on the beach, but beside that, I dont know what you could do.

Wht's your plan?
