Hi, I just got back from Brazil recently and met a nice girl there who I'd like to bring to America to visit me. How hard is it to do that?? I know that I would have to go back there and go to the American Consul in Sao Paulo or Rio with her. Do I need to write a letter first? what exactly should I do to get her here? thank you very much!

I am not expert in visas, but getting a visa for your girlfriend is much more complicated than just writing letter to an American Consul.

Please visit the USA Embassy web site in Brazil for visa information: http://brasilia.usembassy.gov/  I also recommend to hire an immigration lawyer in US for help.

Remember, if you don't follow the proper consulate procedures on the first try, they rarely will give you a second chance to request a visa for her.
