Brazil/setting up English language course in Sao Paulo

Question
Hi there, I'm an Irish national but have lived in Fortaleza for 4years and i'm considering moving south to either Sao Paulo or Florinopolis to relocate my English course as i'm finding it hard to make a living from it here up north. I have been told there is much more of a demand for business English in Sao Paulo and hourly-rates would be more lucrative for me.However, i'm not much of a city person a would rather be living near the coast, hence my other option of Flori.
I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice from anyone who could share their knowledge.

Warm regards,
Aidan

Answer
Hello Aidan,

I believe that you can get better rates and have more opportunities for teaching English in Sao Paulo than in Florianopolis and Sao Paulo is only 2 hours from the coast.

In Floripa, you would have a better life than in SP and Fortaleza, and make more money than Fortaleza, but less than SP.

So, my recommendations are: (1) visit both places and (2) advertise you class on local newspapers and web sites to have a feeling for work demand and rates.

Also, check my previous postings on AllExperts for expatriates living in the south of Brazil for additional help.

Good luck!
