Brazil/Wanting to move to RIO

Question
I want to move to Brazil.
I am a gringo and just want to get away from all this B.S.
What type of docs do I need to live there and try to find work. I have a sales back ground but I guess that would not do me any good if I cannot speak the language.
I would travel there with about $40,000.
I have a college degree.
How difficult is it to get a bartender job or a travel
agent job.
I just want to move there and experience living in a tropical place with out getting killed.

Answer
Hello Jim,

My recommendation is to visit Brazil for at least one month to know the place and be sure that you want to move there. There is a big different between what you see on TV and everyday life in Rio. You would need at least US$2,000 per month to live in Rio.

In order to work in Brazil you would need a working visa and good knowledge of Portuguese, both are hard to get, take time and money.
