Question
Hi  so glad we found you.

#1  Can a US RN work in Brazil as an RN and earn enough income to make a good living?

#2  What are the requirements for a US citizen to sell Real Estate in Brazil and what city would you recommended?

#3  How is the heath care system, are there competent heart and lung surgeons?

Thanks for our help we sincerely appreciate it

With Gratitude,

Answer
1)  A medical professional would have to speak fluent Portuguese, be trained and get licensed. Nurses do not earn a lot of money in Brazil.
Salaries on the whole are much lower than the U.S. for equivalent positions, and depend on where you live. For example, Sao Paulo probably has some of the higher salaries, but also a higher cost of living, whereas a city in the northeast would have lower salaries, lower cost of living, but maybe better quality of life overall.

2) There is a very detailed discussion about the topic of selling real estate in Brazil going on right now here:

The city in which you might choose to sell real estate could be in any part of the country, since there are many areas where construction is surging. The northeast and certain cities in the south are popular with the foreign market. I would certainly suggest travelling to Brazil to esplore the possibilities and see which area appeals to you before deciding.

3) The quality of the health care system depends on your socio-economic level. If you depend on SUS, the public system, you are in for long waits and superficial care. With a good private health plan in a large city, the doctors available to you are as good as anywhere in the world.
