I will be attending a baby shower this weekend August the 22 2009.  The mother to be is form brazil and i would love to give her a gift thats traditional to her culture can you please help!!!!!!

I can't think of anything traditionally Brazilian for babies, or their mothers. The culture is very similar to that in the U.S. when it comes to babies and moms, except perhaps even more friendly/interactive toward kids of all ages, and helpful toward the parents.

If the mother were to be living in Brazil, then some larger items (high chair, etc) are more expensive there. And I might not give a stroller, because in some cases, they are hard to use in Brazil. Some toys there are often made of poor quality plastic, so good toys would be valued.

If they are living outside Brazil, as your message implies, perhaps you could get some kids books in Portuguese for the baby so she could have some intellectual reinforcement in that language eventually. Books in Portuguese are sometimes rather expensive, and perhaps not something that the mother would think of herself. Or perhaps some good quality educational, manipulative toy(s).
