Question Hello Ken,
Your expertise is needed. Long story-short... I married my Brazilian wife while living in Japan and now I am back in the US trying to get her a visa to live here. The visa center wants to see her Birth Certificate. We know that we need to draw up a "procuracao" to allow someone in Brazil to go to the "cartorio' in Sao Paolo to ask for a copy her birth certificate. But my wife doesn't have friends or family in Brasil any longer.
My question is... Can you recommend an agency or lawyer who provides this type of service for citizens who are abroad?
Thank you in advance for any words of advice you can provide.
Answer Yes, this is a problem. I cant think of anyone because I would need to know where she lives in Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo city, Sao Paulo state? What neighborhood was she born in? Then you can contact a lawyer, pay teh lawyer, and they will do it for you. Any personal attorney can do that for a fee. Tell me where she lives in Sao Paulo and I will SEE if I can find a lawyer for you.
