Brazil/Cost of living in Sao Poulo

Question
I have been offered an internship in an University in Sao Paulo per two months. They are paying R$ 600 per month and they say that the monthly estimated cost of living including lodging is R$550.

Do you think that it would be possible to live (survive) with that amount?

Answer
Hello Ruth,

You would have to use all your survival skills to live with R$600 a month. You can save a lot of money by eating all your meals at the university's cafeteria, and share a place with several  people. Also, ask the university for names of other students on internship programs and try to contact few of them.

On the bright side, this is a great opportunity to study at one of the best universities in the world, share cultural experiences, meet new people and make new friends.

Good luck and have fun!
