Question
Hello Ken

I am Ashok from India and will be soon relocating to Salvador with my wife and 8 month old kid

We of course will be getting gated communities to stay, but just wanted to know about safety in places like camacari of lauro de freitas , what time is it not safe to travel, will we have issues when we go out in mornings of evenings and also what are the baby milk products available

Thanks

Ashok

Answer
Sounds like you will be working for Ford, no? If you are making at least R$80,000 a year, then Salvador will be nice. And safe. Look for places as close to teh Ford plant as possible so you are not stuck in traffic if you have to take a car in daily. Or even a bus. It is safe, so long as you dont go to bad neighborhoods at night. Use your judgment. For babies, there will be excellent hospitals in the city and there will also be the standard soy and regular milk formulas, or even actual brast milk you can buy from hospitals.
