Question
I got an opportunity to complete my training program in vitoria. I'll be in Brazil from 1st of July till end of September. I would like to know about Brazilian life. How Brazilian people  are  dealing with foreign people?. The life in brazil is it costly? are there any carnival in that period ? what are good places to visit in vitoria or around?
Thank you

Answer
Brazilians are generally very open, hospitable people. Although in Vitoria, you may be a bit of a curiosity as a foreigner, I'm sure you will be treated well.
To live well/comfortably in Brazil can be quite costly, though. Electronics and cars, among other things, are extremely expensive.
Carnaval in 2011 will be from March 4-8. The most well known Carnaval celebrations are in Rio, Salvador and Olinda, but other places have fun Carnavals too.
There is a nice beach close to Vitoria, called Villa Velha. You are also well located to easily visit the Colonial historic towns in Minas Gerais state (Ouro Preto, Congonhas, Tieradentes), the state of Bahia (including the Posto Seguro area, the Salvador area and the Chapada Diamantina), Rio and many other wonderful places.
Best wishes for a successful and enjoyable visit.
