Brazil/Finding an apartment

Question
My company is transferring me to rio for 1-2 years!   I'm trying to search
for nice, safe apartments that are furnished.     Do you know of any good
websites to begin my search?  The sites I've found are primarily vacation
rentals and or out of date or offer few places.   Thanks!

Answer
Your company should be helping you with this search. You should be negotiating for a contract that includes the perks you will need to live a lifestayle roughly equivalent to that you have in your home country, because in Brazil, everything is much more expensive.

Furnished apartments in major tourist destinations in Brazil are indeed marketed to tourists and priced accordingly. You can try: http://www.alugatemporada.com.br/

Unfurnished apartments will probably require a guarantor (which could be the company.
Best of luck.
