Question
hey, I've been living in Brasilia for a year now, with my husband. and it gets soo lonely here, I have couple friends from my husband work, but i barely hang out with them because they travel back and forth to SP, and have their own lives too
so anyways, I'm looking for a conservative meetings , gatherings , or a website that kinda do this
I need friends here, I've became very gloomy and sad lately because I have no any relationships here, and been annoying my husband to stay with me and hangout with me, and when he do I just have nothing to talk to him about because i haven't done anything during the day, but to walk my dog

Brazilian people are very nice, but they don't know English =/
even their movie theaters here are most of them in Portuguese =_=
I tried taking couple private language courses, but when I just cant use it fluently , i get so nervous
any how.. hope you can help me with my problem =/
thanks alot for your time
Regards

Answer
Hello Loody,

Sorry to hear that you are not having fun in Brazil. You need to find some friends ASAP. Here are some suggestions:

1. Check if your Embassy for social activities or volunteer work
2. Try to join a sport, gym or other social club
3. Visit a church, they are very supportive and provide a good opportunity to meet other people
4. Join a social network on the internet

You can also try to contact expatriates living in Brazil for help:
