Is it appropriate to wear a black cocktail dress to a Brasilian wedding in February?

Wear whatever makes you comfortable. Cocktail length is appropriate. Black is not 'prohibited' for weddings, if that is what you are asking. My husband (the Brazilian fashion mavin ;-) suggests wearing skin-colored panty hose/stockings, rather than black or a color.
