Brazil/Getting caught working on a tourist visa

Question
Hello Vera,

I'm aware that a lot of people teach foreign languages in Brazil on a tourist visa. I keep hearing that chances of getting caught are slim. But do you know what are the consequences of getting caught?

Thank you!

Answer
Hello,
Brazil is not an easy country to live without Visa.
You cannot have a bank account, a car, rent apartments etc.
You will probably be able to give private lessons but I doubt you will get a job in a regular school.
The chances to get caught are slim but the chances to get hired on a regular basis are also slim!
Hope to have helped.
Regards,

Brazil
