Question
When I was young my dad took many trips to Brazil. When he came back with bills that were less than the minimum exchange at the bank he would give them to me. I found them the other day and counted about 3.7 Million cruzerios worth. I tried calling a bank but they don't take them because it is out of date currency. Do you know how I can exchange this?

Answer
Hello Mike,

Unfortunately your 3.7 Million Cruzeiros doesn't have any financial value. Cruzeiro is a old currency, no longer in circulation and cannot be exchanged.

For many decades Brazil has very high inflation, requiring frequent devaluation and creation of new currency. The current money is called Real.

Have a nice day!
