Question
Hi Sandra

I'm from the UK and considering applying for a teaching position at an international school in Rio.  Do you have any idea of salaries for qualified teaching jobs? All I can find is information on English teaching.
Also if I have a job before I enter the country can my Cuban husband join me and if so would he be able to work in brazil?

Thanks

Answer
Generally, the international schools have hiring fairs or a contact person who screens prospective hirees. You should address your salary questions to someone in that role. The school would apply for a working visa for a person they want to hire. The spouse of a foreigner with a working visa is not allowed to work legally in Brazil.
