Question
We are planning to move to Salvador from USA.  The American school there does not have opening in my daughter's grade.  Is there any Portuguese private school that you can recommend?

Answer
Hello Anu,

I am not familiar with schools in Salvador and also don't know your daughter's grade. Here are some suggestions:

1. Ask your Brazilian employer and co-workers for recommendations

2. Contact expatriates living in Brazil:

http://www.expat-blog.com/en/directory/south-america/brazil/
http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/brazil/

3. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador,_Bahia) lists the following top high schools of the city: Anglo-Brasileiro Academy, Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA - Cefet), Military College of Salvador, Anchieta Academy, Oficina Academy, Salesiano Academy, Miró Academy, Marista School of Salvador, Antônio Vieira Academy, Módulo Academy, Sartre Academy, São Paulo Academy, Cândido Portinari Academy, Integral Academy, São José Academy, Alfred Nobel Academy (now owned of the Sartre Academy), Nossa Senhora da Conceição Academy, Santíssimo Sacramento Academy, Diplomata Academy, Nossa Senhora do Resgate Academy, Gregor Mendel Academy.

Good luck!
