Question
Hello, Edison.  I am pursuing my masters degree and am currently working on a project that focuses on Brazil.  I am wondering how companies in Brazil recruit employees and if their strategies are different than the strategies in the US.  Can you provide any insight? Thank you!

Answer
Hello Amanda,

I could classify the recruiting strategy in 3 categories:

1. Government own companies: all candidates must pass an hiring exam before being considered for the job.

2. Large private companies: similar process as in the US (ads,  search engines, interviews, etc.). A lot of companies also have trainee programs to train and select good matching candidates.

3. Small and medium private companies: most hire are done by indication of existing employees or have family connections.
