Brazil/Dirt-cheap apartment in Sao Paolo

Question
Hello,

I am looking to move to Sao Paolo for June and July of 2012 to take Brazilian jujitsu lesssons. I want a dirt cheap apartment (I'm talking about a mattress on the floor kind of apartment) where I can crash at night and study for the GRE. I will probably buy a small electric stove to cook with.

Is this doable? How much are rent prices? I am currently living in Honduras and paying $100USD a month for a clean 1BD/1BR in a reasonably safe area.

Answer
Hi,
Of course you can find all prices in a big city as S. Paulo.
It dependes where in the city you are staying. There are rich and more modest surroundings.
Be careful with safety because in Brazil sometimes cheap means dangerous.
I don' t know about Honduras but living in S. Paulo without money, might be very difficult!
Sorry I cannot help you further.
Regards,

Brazil
