I know that poverty is a major reson for crime, but what are other reasons why Brazil has a lot of crime?

I think the major reasons for the high crime rate in Brazil (mostly in big cities) are:

1. Poverty and huge economical gap between rich and poor
2. Lack of education
3. Broken family structure
4. Living environment (local heroes are criminals that control and help poor neighborhoods, and few job opportunities)
5. Corruption in all branches of government
6. Weak criminal system
7. Under-funded police and schools
