AnswerHello Maruf,
The cost in Rio depends on where you live and your lifestyle.
I believe you can "survive" with US$1,000 per month. The public transportation system is good and cheap in Brazil and you would need at least $15 per day for food.
Try to find a roommate to save on the rent (look for places around universities).
However, don't expect going to fancy restaurants and places with this money.
Just for your reference: the minimum wage in Brazil is around US$200 per month. Income levels in Brazil: poor - less than US$500/month. Lower middle class: US$500 to US$1,500/month. Middle class: US$1,500 to US$3,000/month. High Middle class: US$3,000 to US$10,000/month.
Have fun in Brazil!
