Brazil/Living in Brazil

Question
Hi Edison,

I would like to live in a metro part of Brazil preferably by the water for a month or two in October-November. How much would I need to live in a apartment, go out 3 nights a week, and eat vegetarian meals?

Answer
Hello Irv,

October and November are considered low season on most beach from cities in Brazil, which will save you a lot of money. You would need at least US$ 2,000 per month.

A suggestion: try Florianopolis (Lagoa da Conceição). It is a great city, safe and very cheap before December. You can easily rent a house/apartment for less than US$ 500 per month.

Note: you need to know some Portuguese or Spanish to survive in Brazil. Very few people speak English.

Have fun!
