Brazil/Moving to Brazil

Question
Hi Edison,

My name is Alexander and I have some questions for you about moving to Brazil and more.  I have a Brazilian fiancée.  She lives in a city near Anapolis (Goias).  I am planning on either moving to Brazil or bringing her to live with me to the United States.  I would prefer to live in Brazil, but it is difficult to find a job.  I have a Bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems.  I am fluent in English and Russian and am learning Portuguese right now.  I have lived in Brazil for 4 months recently and have picked up a good amount of Portuguese.  Do you have any suggestions on what I could do to find a job?  My fiancée and I are flexible on where to live if we were to stay in Brazil so we could move to Sao Paulo or any place else.  Do you have any other suggestions?  I will be waiting for your reply.  Thank you.

Alexander

Answer
Alexander,

My suggestions is try to find a job in US to work for an american company in Brazil, which has several advantages:

1. You will know exactly where would live in Brazil.
2. You probably could work for the same company in US in case you decide to come back home.
3. They probably would pay some or all of your moving expenses.
4. You don't need to look for a job in Brazil (much harder to find).
5. Salary is usually higher.
6. Some people in the company would speak English, making easier the transition to the new job in Brazil.

You can look for job on monster.com, hotjobs.com and other job search engines. Check also this  site: www.latpro.com

Boa Sorte!
