Brazil/Spring Break in Brazil

Question
Me and 9 of my friends are heavily considering doing spring break between March 8 and 15th in Brazil. We are each 22 years old. There are a lot of concerns from the 4 females regarding the safety issues in Brazil for Americans right now. What is your opinion on this? Do you have any good recommendations for beach locations with substantial nightlife (during March) where safety is really not going to be an issue? Also, what hotel would you recommend, the price is really of little importance.

Answer
Alex,

I would recommend going to Florianopolis (Brazil). It is an island, with great nightlife, excellent beaches and very, very safe.

Just remember, Brazilians speak Portuguese and few can speak English. But, you can "survive" with Spanish.

Have fun!
