Question
My husband and I are moving to Curitiba with our three young daughters.  Is $2,500 USD a month enough to live on? Also what is the average cost of a three to four bedroom apartment? Thank you in advance for any help.

Answer
Hello Carolyn,

I don't know Curitiba very well, but the cost of living will depend on where you live and what you expect - maiden services, frequency of eating outside, cost rent/location. I believe that you could have a good life with US$2,500/month.

Check this site for renting information in Curitiba (1 dollar = 2 Real):

Just for your reference: The minimum wage in Brazil is around US$200 per month. Income levels in Brazil: poor - less than US$500/month. Lower middle class: US$500 to US$1,500/month. Middle class: US$1,500 to US$3,000/month. High Middle class: US$3,000 to US$10,000/month.

Good luck!
