Question
i,m a nigerian and i will like to know the least amount to spend as a student in brazil in a month. thank you in anticipation. looking forward to hearing from you.

Answer
Depends on a lot of things Bayode. Where are you goign to school? Are you going to a Portuguese language school? Are you coming here as part of an exchange program where your university covers the costs here? I cant answer this question without knowing.  Assuming your university is paying for it, you will just have to pay for living expenses, most likely, and that depends on where you are living. Are you goign to Sao Paulo or Rio? Or are you goign to a smaller city? Let's assume Sao Paulo, you could be paying as much as R$1,000 per month, for a safe, clean, single apartment. Or as low as R$500 per month, in a college dorm.

Then you have to eat.  Food is relatively cheap, figure a single person can survive on about R$350 per month on good food. you can pay less, of course, or more,d epending on what youare eating, and how often you go out to eat and where.

1 USD = R$1.90, but dont count on that exchange when you get here. It could be around R$1.80 or lower.
